Welcome to Katajanokanluoto!

Katajanokanluoto is situated at Kruunuvuorenselka, less than 10 minutes boat ride from Helsinki Meritullintori (just behind the big red Relandersgrund lighthouse boat).

Katajanokanluoto is the smallest island at the front of Helsinki that is open to the public. In the summertime, there is a regular line by M/S Julia from Meritullintori.

On the island is two buildings. Old pilothouse built in 1876, and a shed that has been converted to a modern kitchen.

The Pilothouse is protected by museum authorities and the whole island is situated at the Suomenlinna world heritage sight buffer area. Katajanokanluoto is considered a valuable part of Finnish maritime and coastline architecture history.

Today this unique island is an indoor/outdoor restaurant. The whole island is a restaurant. And around the island, you can find a bench to sit on. Select your favourite view. Eat, drink and enjoy the best atmosphere in the town.

Cafe Kobben serves high-quality pizzas with our own secret recipe. Good selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. Coffee, tea and homemade pies.

Our pride is our ecological infrastructure. We are not connected to the city’s infrastructure. Instead, we make our electricity with solar panels. We purify the seawater with the reverse osmosis system for our use. We compost and recycle ♻️ 100% of all our waste.
